How it works

My engineers work for you as a dedicated virtual team. As long as they are working for you, they ONLY work for you. You hire them on an as-needed basis.

You pay a monthly fee for this service. You can start any time and you can stop any time. There is no long term contract. There are no hidden charges.

Regular vteams

(You manage your developer and your project yourself)

In this configuration, you get a dedicated PHP developer. This person is now part of your team. You can have him write PHP code for any number of projects or features.

In this configuration, you manage all aspects of your developer's work. However, we do provide a Development Manager who regularly oversees your programmer. The Development Manager also performs routine code reviews.

Autopilot vteams

(We manage your project for you)

In this configuration, we setup an experienced Project Manager to work with you directly and he works with your dedicated engineer.

This configuration is especially suitable if you don’t have a lot of time to manage your engineer. Your Project Manager will manage all aspects of managing your developer. This means you spend less time managing your project and more time running your business.

Every day with vteams

  • You will talk to your developer every day. Mostly on Skype or Google Hangouts.

  • We will provide you with a Project Management System and an issue tracker.

  • Depending on which time zone you are in, you will talk to your developer once or twice a day. We plan for a few hours of real time overlap.

  • You will get a daily update from your developer and a weekly update from the Development Manager.

  • When you need other services like Graphics Design and UI work, our UI team will jump in and get that work done for you. (If you have a regular vteam, you pay per hour for this service. If you have an Auto Pilot vteam, it is included.)

My engineers and their skills

  • Most of our engineers have Masters Degrees in Computer science. The person you hire will have the right education.

  • We don’t hire freelancers. Every engineer works from a development center as a full time employee. Working from a development center imposes discipline and allows for constant oversight.

  • When we started out, we used to hire people for skill sets with no regard to their personalities. Now we hire for character and train for skills. An engineer with character will never let you down when you need him the most.

Getting Started

We have a simple onboarding process. You call us; or fill out this form and we will call you. We talk about your project needs and then setup a 360 review with our most experienced engineers.

The 360 review is purely technical in nature. Our best engineers look at your system under the hood and discover what kind of engineer (or a team of engineers) will be a good fit for you.

After the review, our team matches your needs to the right engineers in our company. When a positive match is acquired, we send you the resumes of matching engineers.

You get to interview the engineers directly. The monthly rate of each engineer is already stated on each resume. If you like an engineer, you can request us to start your team.

We sign NDAs and offer service agreements. We bill you for the first month of service. As soon as the payment is cleared, your guy starts working for you.

Top talent agencies and the 3% myth:

They would like you to believe that they hire the top 3% engineers in the universe. What they fail to mention CLEARLY is that they only hire the top 3% freelancers who applied for a job.

In my company, we hire only the 0.7% of all applicants who apply for a job with us. Our selection process is much more rigorous than these agencies.

If freelancers could deliver reliably and consistently, big companies like Microsoft, Google and Apple would let go of their employees and hire the top 3% freelancers.

The faceless body shops from India:

These are large scale body shops who have been in business for many years and they employ thousands of people. Sometimes they fail to disclose that most of their people are actually doing data entry and BPO work. Engineering is not their core strength.

If you have ever received telemarketing calls about software development, the calls come from these body shops. They are ruthless sales machines.

My company is focused on good engineering and nothing else. Compared to these body shops, we are a specialized company with a singular focus. We are like a startup who has the capabilities and resources of a large corporation.

The boutique shops

Sometimes I run across websites of small boutique shops whose developers look like Hollywood models in their B&W pictures. Very inspiring.

But the problem with boutique shops is that their rates are much too high. And their capacity is limited because of their size.

My company used to be a boutique shop when we started out. But with time we have steadily outgrown that phase.
